Community Options Supported Employment (COSE) Program
The COSE program is began as a pilot project in 2009 in Fargo ND. Referrals are received from the Human Service Center divisions of Mental Health and Substance Abuse. Individuals who are eligible for the COSE program must have a Dual Diagnosis of mental health and substance abuse and want to secure employment. The COSE program is an evidenced based practice from Case Western Reserve University in Ohio and follows the following seven core principles:
· Zero exclusion
· Consumer preferences are important
· Rapid job search
· Competitive job is the goal
· Employment is integrated with mental health services
· Time-unlimited support
· Personalized benefits planning
